LAWTON — Lawton sophomore Monte Goodson hit a walkoff 3-run homer to push Lawton past Putnam City West 12-9 Thursday (Aug. 27).
The longball followed a leadoff single and a catcher’s interference.
The Patriots rallied for four runs in the sixth inning after trailing 7-5. West had three walks and three singles to take a 9-7 lead.
Lawton tied the game in the bottom of the sixth on a single, an error and hit batsmen.
Kiyra Holcomb and Aalyiah Lewis each went 2-for-3 in the loss.

The Patriots host sister school Putnam City Monday (Aug. 31) at 5 p.m.
The Pirates lost an 18-1 contest to Piedmont Tuesday (Aug. 25).
