KINGFISHER — Bethany gave up runs in bunches in an 8-2 loss to Kingfisher in 4A-3 action Tuesday (Aug. 11).
The Yellowjackets (1-1, 1-0) scored four runs in the first inning keyed by a home run from sophomore Kendall Farrar to take an early lead.
The Bronchos (0-2, 0-1) picked up a run in the fourth inning. Senior Ella Davis doubled to left field. Fellow senior Grey Williamson added a single to center. Sophomore Macy Bibbs scored Davis on an infield single.
In the fifth inning, Kingfisher added some distance with three runs on two walks and an error to make it 7-1. The Jackets scored another run in the sixth inning.
In the seventh, sophomore Avery Bibbs was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Fellow sophomore Dani Williams tripled to left field to make it 8-2.
For the game, Davis went 2-for-2 with that double.
Seniors Jules Barger and Emma Geissler combined to give up nine hits and walk six batters. Of the eight runs the duo allowed, only four were earned due to two Broncho errors.

Bethany travels to Weatherford for the I-40 Classic festival. On Friday (Aug. 14), the Bronchos meet Cache (1-1) at 10:30 a.m. and McLoud (2-0) at 1:30 p.m. On Saturday, Bethany faces 3A Chisholm (1-1) at 10:30 a.m. and Tecumseh (0-1) at noon.
On Tuesday, Cache lost a 4-1 contest to Mount Saint Mary. McLoud routed Bristow, 21-0. Chisholm lost to 3A Alva, 4-1. Tecumseh lost a 8-3 game to 3A Prague.
