BETHANY — Bethany scored five times in the first quarter in a 57-0 rout of winless Douglass Friday (Oct. 30) in a 4A-1 contest.
The win placed the Bronchos (4-5, 3-2) in third place in the district behind Weatherford and Clinton and just before Woodward and Cache, both 2-3 in district play. Each team has one district game remaining.
Bethany scored early and often in the first quarter. Junior Xzavier had two rushing touchdowns. The first one of those was set up by senior Brody McLaren’s interception on a throw down the middle. Sophomore Noah Mars followed with a 35-yard pick-six.
Senior Griffin Hokett set up the Bronchos’ final score of the quarter with an interception. That led to senior Cooper Willis snagging a seven-yard touchdown pass to make it 36-0 with :43 left in the opening quarter.
In the second quarter, senior Troy Brooks had two touchdown run, including a 66-yard scoring run.

The Bronchos host Elk City next Friday (Nov. 6) at 7 p.m. for Senior Night.
The Elks (2-7, 1-4) drooped a 42-21 contest at Clinton Friday.
