Bethany opens the 2026 softball season Monday (Aug. 10) with a small core of experienced starters along with newcomers to the program.
Broncho coach Booker Blakley pointed to seniors like shortstop Jules Barger, third baseman Grey Williamson and outfielders Ella Davis and Emma Geissler.
Blakley said his senior group, which has been in the starting lineup for multiple years in their high school career is “showing great leadership with new younger players.”
Newcomers include sophomores like catcher Dani Williams, infielder Katelyn Sydnes and utility players Avery and Macy Bibbs.
Last season, Bethany won its first softball regional since 2011. Their 19-13 finish came after the Bronchos opened the season at 1-6, Bethany finished second behind Elk City in 4A District 2.
“Trying to build off of last year’s success, replacing a lot of key positions due to graduation and transfers,” Blakley said in the preseason questionnaire. “But looking forward to seeing how the girls progress throughout the season.”
Now playing in 4A District 3, Bethany will have plenty familiar opponents with Bishop McGuinness, Clinton, Elk City, Kingfisher, Weatherford and Woodward in the district.
