WARR ACRES — Putnam City scored 10 runs in the first inning and eight runs in the third inning of a 19-5 run-rule win over 5A Southeast Monday (Sept. 21).
The Pirates had six hits in the first inning, with two doubles and a Spartan error.
In the third inning, senior Tessa Goodner capped off the win with a grand slam over the left field wall for a walkoff win.
Goodner went 2-for-3 with four runs scored and seven runs batted in. She also doubled.
Senior Maddison Gossman was also 2-for-3. Seniors Francis Meza and Cadence O’Dell-Brown each added 3-for-3 performances.
Senior Alexandra Hatlelid allowed just one hits. None of the five runs she allowed were earned.
