DEL CITY — Putnam City lost two games and played to a tie in a third game at the Del City Festival Friday and Saturday (Sept. 18-19).
FRIDAY: LAWTON MACARTHUR 10, PUTNAM CITY 9
Despite four runs in the third inning, keyed by a 2-run home run from senior Tessa Goodner, the Pirates fell short.
In the third and final inning, sophomore D’Najah Jarrell singled in senior Cadence O’Dell-Brown (who walked with one out). Jarrell later stole home.

The homeschool OKC Broncos scored four runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-3 lead.
The Broncos had been held hitless before the outburst in the final inning.
In the bottom of the fourth, Goodner doubled senior Alexandra Hatlelid home to tie the game. The game was called while senior Francis Meza was at the plate.
O’Dell-Brown was 2-for-2 with two doubles for the game.
Hatelid walked six batters and struck out five in the tie.

Original couldn’t overcome five runs in the second inning by the host Eagles.
The Pirates scored two runs in the first inning, keyed by a triple to center field by senior Maddison Gossman. Del City took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the inning on two hits, two walks and an error.
Putnam City loaded the bases in the top of the second inning. Senior Addison Grier led off with a walk. Later, Trinity Scottie was hit by a pitch. Jarrell added an infield single to load the bases.
Hatlelid lined a single to left to score Grier. Goodner was hit by a pitch to score Scottie and give PC a 4-3 lead. A double play ended the rally.
Del City had the 5-run outburst to retake the lead.
Jarrell led off the fourth with a single. Hatelid reached on an error. Goodner doubled Jarrell home. After Gossman popped out in the infield, Meza lofted a sacrifice fly to left field which scored Hatlelid.
A pop out ended the threat.
Goodner was 2-for-2 with a pair of runs batted in. Jarrell went 2-for-4.
