WARR ACRES — Choctaw captured its second district title in the last three years with a 48-7 rout of Putnam City Friday (Oct. 23) in 6A-II-1 action.
The Yellowjackets took advantage of two interceptions in the first half, plus a turnover on downs in Pirate territory to build a 28-0 lead.
The Pirates broke through late in the second quarter. Choctaw junior Kentrell Gaddis II muffed the punt. The ball bounced into the arms of PC sophomore Quinton Nell. One play later, Pirate senior quarterback Daveon Simmons found fellow senior Ameer Boyce behind his defender for a 25-yard score to make it a 28-7 ballgame.
The Yellowjackets extended the lead in the second half while Original struggled to sustain drives.
The Pirates got another opportunity in the fourth quarter when senior Jordan Billingslea stripped the ball from Choctaw senior Anthony Keys.
The Putnam City drive stalled and the turnover bug struck again.
Yellowjacket senior Landen Dockery recovered a bad snap on the punt. That led to a field goal. Later in the quarter, junior Marcico Petties fumbled and Choctaw senior Freddy Nash recovered it. That led to the Yellowjackets’ final score.

Putnam City (3-5, 3-2) wraps up 6A-II-1 play at winless Lawton Eisenhower next Friday (Oct. 30).
The Eagles (0-8, 0-4) were off this week. Ike dropped a 42-0 contest to Piedmont on Oct. 15.
