WARR ACRES — Putnam City North scored 10 runs in the seventh inning to turn a close game with rival Putnam City into a 15-4 rout on Monday (Sept. 14).

Leading 5-4 entering the seventh, the visiting Panthers scored three runs on Pirate three errors. North also had three singles, a double and a hit batsman in the rally.

The double in the seventh inning came from second baseman. Kayla Orton, who went 4-for-5. The senior drove in five runs. Orton’s single in the third inning gave the Panthers a 2-1 lead. Her single in the fifth extended the lead to 4-1.

Fellow senior Savannah Martinez added a 3-for-5 performance. Senior Presley Standridge was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in.

Standridge pitched a complete game. She allowed eight hits and three earned runs. Standridge walked one batter and struck out five.

For the Pirates, sophomore D’Najah Jarrell, seniors Tessa Goodner and Francis Meza each went 2-for-4.

In the fifth inning, senior Paytyn Grigsby walked. Jarreell, Goodner and Meza each singled to pull within a run, 5-4.

Goodner received a no-decision after throwing four innings. She allowed just one hit. Of the three runs she allowed, only one was earned. She walked two batters and struck out five.

UP NEXT

North travels to Enid (25-0, 11-0) Tuesday (Sept. 16) for a 6A-1 contest. The Pacers earned an 11-0 shutout of Edmond Memorial on Monday.
