MIDWEST CITY — Bethany unloaded 17 hits in a 14-6 run-rule win of the homeschool OKC Broncos Monday (Aug. 31) at Rose State College.
“Offense did a good job today,” Bethany coach Booker Blakley said via text. “(We) still struck out too much but had some pop today at the plate.”
While striking out seven times, the Bronchos had six extra-base hits including home runs from senior Jules Barger and sophomore Katelyn Sydnes.
Both homers came as part of a 5-run rally in the second inning,
Bethany had five errors in the win and none of the six runs allowed by Barger were earned because of that.
“Need to be better in the field,” Blakeley said. “(We) can’t give away that many runs too often. Hopefully we are able to lock in for two district games the rest of the week.”
Barger struck out six batters and walked none.

The Bronchos (8-7, 2-3) return to 4A-3 action by hosting Weatherford (4-6, 2-1) Tuesday (Sept. 1) at 5 p.m.
The Eagle lost a 7-3 contest to Kingfisher on Monday.
