EDMOND — Edmond North scored eight runs in the fourth inning of a 13-0 shutout of Putnam City North Monday (Sept. 21) in a 6A-1 contest.
The Huskies collected 12 hits and took advantage of five Panther errors.
Celby Calhoun broke up the perfect game by Edmond North pitching in the third inning by leading off with a single. Senior Grayson Petty laid down a bunt and reached on an error. Kaylssa Smith moved the runners over with a sacrifice bunt but both runners were stranded.
With two outs in the fourth, senior Laila Willoby-Taylor lined a single to right field for Putnam City North’s other hit.
Edmond North freshman Drue Molenda struck out 10 Panthers in the win.
