OKLAHOMA CITY — Putnam City West picked up its first win of the season with a 14-0 run-rule no-hitter of Capitol Hill Friday (Aug. 21).
The Patriots scored 10 runs in the first inning en route to the win. West had five hits and nine walks. The Patriots also had six batters hit by pitches.
West had four hitters with two hits each, including Kaydence Lopez, Fernanda Najera, Kiyra Holcomb and Jaylee Echeverria.
Najera struck out eight batters and didn’t have a walk. She hit one batter for the Red Wolves’ lone baserunner.

The Patriots (1-7, 0-4) host 6A-2 opponent Bixby Monday (Aug. 22) at 5 p.m. for a doubleheader.
The Spartans (5-3, 2-2) lost a 10-0 shutout at Broken Arrow on Thursday. On Saturday, Bixby will play 5A Pryor and 4A Oologah in the Rogers State Festival in Claremore.
