

OKLAHOMA CITY — Western Heights split a pair of games on the final day of the All-City Athletic Conference (ACAC) baseball tournament Friday (March 27) to finish as the runner-up.
WESTERN HEIGHTS 3, SOUTHEAST 2
Jet senior Akin Aguillard struck out seven and Western Heights got just enough offense in the semifinal win.
Aguillard pitched all three inning. He allowed three hits. Of the two runs he allowed, only one was earned due to four Jet errors. Aguillard walked one.
Western Heights struck first when sophomore Heyward Martin walked, stole second, third and home for a 1-0 lead.
In the third inning, senior Keziah Howell walked with one out. He later stole second base and then scored when freshman Hunter Rule lined a double to left field. Aguillard doubled Rule home for a 3-0 lead.
In the bottom half of the inning, Nano Soliz reached on a catcher’s interference. Soliz circled the bases on two Jet errors. Aguillard struck out Jakeb Daniels. The Spartans’ pitcher Lucas Carpenter walked and Ty Ball doubled to cut the lead to a run. Aguillard struck out the next two batters to seal the win.
Aguillard and Rule were each 1-for-2 with a run batted in. Martin had a walk and two stolen bases. Howell was hit by a pitch and stole bases. Senior Connor Logsdon also stole a base.
Southeast’s Carpenter gave up just two hits after pitching all three innings. He walked one and struck out six batters.

The Knights scored three runs in the fourth and final inning to walk off with the ACAC title.
Jayden Mayfield’s walkoff double came after two walks, an error and a single in the inning.
The Jets’ three errors proved costly as only one of the six Knight runs was earned.
Trailing 1-0 in the second, Western Heights scored twice. Aguillard had a leadoff double. He moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a passed ball. Logsdon walked and later scored on a passed ball for a 2-1 lead.
Walks, single and passed ball led to two runs for Northwest Classen in the bottom half of the inning.
The Jets answered with three runs in the third inning, keyed by Aguillard’s RBI-double.
Aguillard finished with a 2-for-2 day with an RBI. Howell was 1-for-2. Logsdon, Howell and sophomore J.J. Bradley each stole a base.
Logsdon allowed four hits on the mound. He walked four batters and struck out five.
