
MOORE — Putnam City North’s troubles with big numbers on the scoreboard continued Saturday (March 21) with a 12-4 loss to 2A1 Oktaha at the Edmond Spring Break Festival.
The Tigers (3-2) scored five runs in the second inning and four more runs in the fifth inning
Oktaha pelted the Panthers with 12 hits and took advantage of six walks and three North errors.
The Panthers picked up a pair of runs in the third inning. Junior Devin Orton led off with a double to left field. Senior Robert Marcy singled and Orton scored on an error.
Senior Reece Hubbled doubled and later freshman Jensen Scheffe (running for Marcy) scored on a steal of home.
In the fifth inning, North added two more runs. Orton walked and Hubble singled. Senior Gavin Lang followed with a double.
Scheffe stole home again. Hubble went to third base on an error and scored on a single by junior Treague Ferguson.
Hubble and Ferguson each had a pair of hits.
Senior Xavier Sarkey took the loss. He allowed seven hits, seven earned runs. Sarkey walked four batters and struck out three. Fellow senior Owen Attebery gave up five hits but none of the four runs he allowed were earned. Attebery walked two batters and struck out one. Junior Tyson Meyers got the final out in the top of the fifth inning.

Putnam City North (1-7, 0-2) returns to 6A-4 play with a series against neighboring Deer Creek. The Panthers travel to the Antlers Monday (March 23) at 5 p.m. and plays Deer Creek at home on Tuesday.
The Antlers (7-4, 2-0) beat 5A Bishop Kelley on Saturday, 8-0.
