DEL CITY — Bethany won its first game of the new year with a 61-39 rout of Destiny Christian Friday (Jan. 3).
“It was nice to play well out of the break,” Bethany coach Brett Cannon said via text. “We are usually pretty rusty each year after Christmas but we shook that off quick.”
Senior Lukas Wooldridge led Bethany with 12 points, including two 3-pointers.
“We executed our game plan at a high level in the second half. We flew around defensively and were able to create some easy offense,” Cannon said.
Cannon praised seniors Braxton Mullins and Jackson Payne.
“They set the tone with their intensity,” Cannon said.
Payne finished with nine points in the win. Fellow seniors Wyatt Geissler and Garrett Johnson each scored eight points.
