NORMAN – Putnam City North fell to Westmoore, 61-47, in the Joe Lawson Memorial Invitational Tournament final Saturday (Dec. 14) at Norman High School.

“I think we have been playing really well and consistently,” Putnam City North coach D.J. Lemons said. “We just put together an average performance and faced Westmoore which put together an outstanding performance.

“I just thought we were a little off and they were great. We have to move on and learn from this and get ready to play a tough Norman team on Tuesday” Lemons said.

The Panthers trailed by one point (32-31) with 1:02 left in the third quarter. The Jaguars (6-2) scored seven points in just over a minute while North got a bucket to make it 39-33 going to the fourth quarter.

Putnam City North heads back to Norman (3-2, 2-0) Tuesday (Dec. 17) for a district 6A-2 game against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Norman fell to crosstown rival Norman North, 47-46, Saturday (Dec. 14) in the third place game of the Lawson tournament.
