OKLAHOMA CITY – Putnam City West rolled past Lawton Friday (April 19) in a three-inning run-rule non-district contest, 15-0.

Leading 6-0 after one inning, West scored nine runs in the second inning highlighted by a three-run triple from sophomore Jayvn Mitchell, who finished three RBIs on the day.

On the mound, Mitchell, allowed one hit over three innings, striking out seven batters.

West (9-15, 2-10 in Class 6A District 1) scored 15 runs on six hits, taking advantage of three Lawton errors.

Senior Jaxon Hyde-Herrera went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two runs batted in. Fellow senior Rico Hamilton added a 1-for-2 day with a double, two runs scored and two runs batted in.

Another senior, Sam Hernandez had 1-for-2 performance, scoring three runs and driving in one run. Freshman Alex Jiminez went 1-for-1 on the day, driving in three runs on a single and a sacrifice fly.

UP NEXT: Putnam City West travels up to Ponca City Saturday (April 20). First pitch is at 12 p.m.
