WARR ACRES – Putnam City gained revenge on Class 5A Del City with a 9-2 rout Friday (March 29) at the Bryson Cael Memorial Tournament.

The Eagles beat Putnam City, 11-8, on March 15.

Putnam City (3-8, 2-4 in Class 6A District 1) got good production from the heart of the lineup, collecting nine hits as a team.

Junior Connor Fast went 2-for-4 with a run scored as did senior Joshua Potter, who also drove in a run. Senior AveryStewart added a 1-for-3 performance, scoring a run.

Senior Connor Bennett finished 1-for-4, scoring two runs with a triple. His brother, sophomore Brandon Bennett, went 1-for-1 with a double and scored twice.

Senior Hunter Andrews went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Putnam City starter Andrews earned the win allowing two hits, two runs and striking out six batters in four innings. Stewart earned a save after allowing only one hit over the last three innings and striking out eight.
