TUTTLE – Bethany gave up a seven-run lead, losing to Lawton MacArthur 8-7 in six innings Friday (March 22) at the Tuttle Spring Break Festival.

The Bronchos (6-6-1) took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a base-loaded walk from senior Cade Ross.

In the third, Bethany plated six runs, taking advantage of two MacArthur errors, a walk and hit-by-pitch. Ross and junior Josh Pierce added doubles in the big inning. Juniors Brock Cross and Joe Berry had singles in the inning.

Walks and four hit batsmen by Broncho pitching did Bethany in as the Highlanders (4-5) scored two runs in the fourth, four runs in the fifth and two runs in the sixth for the comeback win.

Ross went 1-for-2 with a game-high three RBIs. Pierce was 1-for-3 as was Berry, who scored two runs. Cross also finished 1-for-3.

The Bronchos took advantage of 10 walks by the MacArthur pitching staff.

UP NEXT: Bethany meets host Tuttle (12-1) Saturday (March 23). First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
