NORMAN – Putnam City North was hot and cold in a 52-42 loss to Norman North Friday (Feb. 9) in a Class 6A District 1 contest.
After the Panthers (9-13, 3-10) fell behind early, trailing 27-18, Putnam City North went on a run and trailed by only one point, 34-33 after a 3-pointer from freshman Mekhi Thomas with 1:42 left in the third quarter.
Norman North (11-10, 6-7) pulled away in the final period, outscoring the Panthers, 15-7. The Timberwolves finished the game on a 6-0 run in the final 1:35 of the contest after the Panthers trailed 46-42.
UP NEXT: North finishes the regular season by hosting Moore Tuesday (Feb. 13). Tip-off is at 7:15 p.m.
