OWASSO – Owasso used a strong second quarter to beat Putnam City, 67-40, Tuesday (Feb. 6) in a Class 6A District 3 game.
The Lady Pirates (8-13, 3-7 in district play) trailed by only four at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Rams (15-5, 8-3 in district) broke the game open in the second quarter, outscoring PC 27-5 before halftime. Senior McKenna Yokley scored 10 of her game-high 17 points in the second quarter.
Lady Pirate junior Kayla Hill scored 12 points, going 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Fellow junior Paishintz Booker added eight points.
UP NEXT: Putnam City returns home to meet Union Friday (Feb. 9). Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
