OKLAHOMA CITY —Elgin scored eight runs in the third inning of a 10-0 shutout win of Western Heights Monday (Sept. 14) in a 5A-1 game.
The Owls’ big inning was fueled by four singles, two errors, a double and a walk and a inside-the-park home run.
The Jets (0-14, 0-9) got their only hit (and baserunner) of the game when junior Abigail Bise had an infield single with two in the first inning. Bise was later picked off first to end the inning.

Western Heights hosts Lawton Thursday (Sept. 17) for a district doubleheader at 5 p.m.
The Wolverines (3-10, 1-6) have lost five straight, dating back to a 12-9 win over Putnam City West on Aug. 27. Lawton meets crosstown rival Lawton MacArthur on Tuesday before playing the Jets.
