BETHANY — After a blowout loss in the first game of the Bethany Tournament, the Bronchos got a stellar pitching performance and a walkoff win for a split Friday (Sept. 11).

The 5A Cardinals racked up 12 hits in the contest.
After an early 2-0 lead, the Bronchos tied the game in the bottom of the first inning. Senior Grey Williamson singled with one out. Fellow senior Jules Barger lined a double to center field. Senior Ella Davis brought both of them home with a single to center.
Collinsville scored in every inning but the third inning for the big win.

Sophomore Avery Bibbs struck out the first five batters she faced. Bibbs allowed a leadoff single in the fourth for the 3A Cyclones’ lone hit. She struck out nine and walked none in the win.
The Bronchos had baserunners in the second, third and fourth innings but finally broke through in the fifth.
With one out, Williamson tripled to right field. Barger hit a ground ball to the shortstop, who fired home but Williamson scored safely to seal the win.
