OKLAHOMA CITY — Putnam City North fought back from an early deficit but dropped a 4-3 contest to Lawton Eisenhower Monday (Aug. 17) in 6A-1 action.
The Eagles took advantage of two singles and an error to take a 2-0 first-inning lead.
An Ike double and walk in the third extended the lead to 3-0.
The Panthers (1-6, 0-1) answered in the bottom half of the inning with a two-out rally. Junior Kayleigh Andrews doubled to left field. Senior Presley Standridge walked and senior Savannah Martinez singled in Andrews to make it 3-1.
A North error in the fifth proved costly as the Eagles added a run.
In the bottom half of the inning, Andrews singled, stole second and moved to third on a passed ball. She came home on a Standridge sacrifice fly.
North added another run in the seventh inning when senior Grayson Petty walked. Standridge tripled to right field to score Petty and make it 4-3.
Only one of the four runs allowed by Standridge was earned. She struck out eight batters and walked one.
Ike’s Bella Musselman struck out 10 batters in the win.

The Panthers host Westmoore (3-4, 0-1) Tuesday (Aug. 18) at 6:30 p.m. in a 6A-1 contest.
On Monday, the Jags fell to Enid, 8-3.
