Deer Creek used big innings for a two-game 6A-4 sweep of Putnam City North Monday and Tuesday (March 23 and 24).

OKLAHOMA COUNTY — The Antlers broke a scoreless tie in the third inning with four runs. Deer Creek had two doubles, two singles and a walk in the rally.

North had opportunities with eight hits in the shutout loss.

Seniors Reece Hubble, JaQuari Dansby and junior Treague Ferguson each had two hits. Seniors Quincy Robinson and Xavier Sarkey each had a hit. Robinson also stole a base.

Hubble took the loss after pitching six innings. He allowed nine hits and all six runs. Hubble walked seven batters and struck out six.

TUESDAY: DEER CREEK 15, PUTNAM CITY NORTH 2

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Antlers exploded for 13 runs in the second inning in the run-rule rout.

Deer Creek had 12 hits in the inning, including three doubles and a triple.

North scored two runs in the third inning. Senior Robert Marcy singled in junior Devin Orton, who walked to lead off the inning. Robinson, who had reached on a fielder’s choice, scored on a steal of home.

Senior Austin Guerrero, Marcy and Ferguson each had two hits. Robinson had a hit and a stolen base as well. Ferguson also stole a base.

Senior Owen Attebery came into pitch after the damage was done and threw three scoreless innings. He allowed a lone hit. Attebery walked four batters and struck out five.
