Bethany two-sport star Breck Brady is moving west to 6A Mustang, the sophomore announced Sunday on social media.
Brady, a 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds, has drawn plenty of college interest after two seasons with the Bronchos playing football and basketball.
“Thankful for my time at Bethany since 8th grade and for the coaches who poured into me on and off the field. After a lot of processing and prayer, my family and I have decided that I’ll be moving to Mustang after spring break. Excited for this next chapter!” Brady’s post read.
Brady caught 19 passes for 264 yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore tight end. He also collected 56 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, two sacks and a team-leading 21 hurries from the defensive end position. Bethany reached the 4A semifinals in 2024 and were knocked out in the first round this past season.
On the hardwood, Brady and the Bronchos reached the quarterfinals of the state tournament in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Brady’s presence inside made an impact for the Bronchos.
Brady has football offers from Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Kansas, Arkansas, Kansas State. Purdue, Utah, Southern Methodist and Tulane.
He is the son of former Putnam City West tight end Rickey Brady. The elder Brady played four seasons at Oklahoma, where he earned All-Big Eight honors as a senior. He also spent one season on OU’s basketball team.
Rickey Brady was a sixth-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 1994. He had stints with several teams through 2001.
Breck Brady’s departure marks the third football player to go from Bronchos to Broncos. Judson Gilliland and Evenson Malaska transferred to Mustang for their senior season. Mustang finished 8-4 and exited in the first round of the 6A-I playoffs.
The Mustang basketball team had three key contributors join from other schools. Mar’Quell Robinson and Gabriel Osborne, Jr. joined the Broncos this past season from Putnam City as juniors. Scyon Wilborn moved from Putnam City West to Mustang for his sophomore season. On Friday (March 13), the Broncos lost to Norman in the 6A state championship game.
