
NEWCASTLE — Putnam City rode a big fourth quarter for a 59-48 win over Stillwater Thursday (Jan. 22) at the Newcastle Sweet Pea Tournament.
The Pirates led 35-33 to begin the fourth quarter and scored 24 points in the fourth quarter to widen the lead.
PC junior Ryan Young scored a game-high 19 points with five 3-pointers. Fellow junior DeMarre Threatt added nine points, including four points from free throws in the fourth quarter.
Junior Walter Ross scored all eight of his points in the final period.

Due to forecasted heavy snow and ice, the final day of the Newcastle Sweet Pea Tournament was cancelled.
The Pirates (4-13, 1-7) return to 6A-1 play next Friday (Jan. 30). PC travels to Choctaw (12-4, 8-0) at 7:30 p.m.
The Yellowjackets beat Edmond Memorial on the road, 48-47, on Tuesday.
