STILLWATER — Putnam City’s softball season ended Wednesday (Oct. 8) with a 21-2 loss to Stillwater and a 10-3 defeat against Edmond Santa Fe at 6A Regional 6.

STILLWATER 21, PUTNAM CITY 2

Walks from Putnam City pitching gave the Pioneers a 21-2 rout. In all, the Pirates allowed 23 walks in the loss.

Trailing 19-0 in the third inning, Original got on the scoreboard.

Luevano was hit by a pitch so lead the inning. Hickerson and Tidmore had back-to-back singles. Junior Madi Gossman grounded out which scored Luevano. Goodner walked to load the bases.

Hickerson stole home for the second run.

Hickerson was 2-for-3 on the day. Tidmore and Hatlelid each had hits.

The Wolves scored seven runs in the fourth inning, erasing a 3-2 Pirate lead.

Original took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Junior Alexandra Hatlelid led off the inning with single. Fellow junior Addison Grier laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Hatlelid to second base. Junior Natalie Luevano singled to right, moving Hatlelid to third base and a sacrifice fly to center field from junior Cadence O’Dell-Brown brought in the first run of the game.

Santa Fe responded with two runs in the third and PC retook the lead in the top of the fourth.

Hatlelid led off the inning with a single and reached second base on an error. A Grier groundout moved her to third. Luevano singled in Hatlelid to tie the game and moved to second on the throw.

Luevano moved to third on a groundout by O’Dell-Brown and scored on a single from senior Dahlia Hickerson.

Luevano was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Hatlelid added a 2-for-3 day with two runs scored.

Hickerson and Tidmore each had hits and Hickerson drove in a run.

Junior Tess Goodner allowed eight hits over six innings. Of the 10 runs she allowed, only four were earned runs. Goodner walked four batters and struck out one batter.
