BETHANY — Bethany opened the Bethany tournament with two dominant shutouts, beating 6A Putnam City , 12-0 and 3A Casady, 12-0, Thursday (Sept. 4).

“Good to get the girls confidence going with some big wins, hope to continue thru the rest of the weekend,” Bethany coach Booker Blakley said via text.

BETHANY 12, PUTNAM CITY 0

Senior Paige Sechrist and freshman Avery Bibbs combined to throw a three-inning perfect game and the Broncho offense scored nine runs in the second inning for the rout.

Junior Jules Barger went 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored and two runs batted in. Senior Madison Bibbs was 2-for-2 with two doubles. She drove in three runs.

Freshman Rian Rollins, seniors Jayda Davis, Emma Buxton, Sechrist and Maddison McNutt each collected a hit. Davis had a double and two RBIs. Rollins’ hit was a double and McNutt drove in a run.

Sechrist and Avery Bibbs each had a strikeout on the mound.

BETHANY 12, CASADY 0

The Bronchos had another big second inning, scoring six runs en route to another 12-0 win.

Bethany earned the blowout win despite only having three hits. Broncho batters walked four times. Barger, Madison Bibbs and senior Ella Davis each had a hit. Madison Bibbs had a double and two runs batted in while Ella Davis tripled.

The Bronchos stole six bases in the win with Ella Davis swiping two bags.

Sechrist allowed one hit over three innings. She struck out five batters.
