DEL CITY — Western Heights exploded for 11 runs in the seventh inning en route to a 25-6 rout of Del City Tuesday (April 15) in a 5A-1 game.

The double-digit inning featured six hits, three walks, two errors, two hit batsmen and a passed ball.

Junior Akin Aguillard had a 3-for-6 day. He doubled twice, scored twice and drove in five runs.

Senior Keziah Howell went 2-for-4 with a double, three stolen bases and four runs scored. Fellow senior Caden Wiebusch was also 2-for-4 with a triple, two stolen bases, four runs scored and four runs batted in.

Freshman Heyward Martin added a 2-for-5 performance with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs. Senior Jacob Bohnstedt and freshman J.J. Bradley each had a hit. Bohnsted drove in three runs.

Senior Kole Schrock was 0-for-3 but he walked twice and was hit by a pitch. Schrock stole three bases and scored three times.

On the mound, Bohnstedt scattered seven hits over five innings. Of the six runs he allowed, only one run was earned due to seven Jet errors. Bohnstedt didn’t walk a batter and struck out seven.

Aguillard pitched two innings of hitless and scoreless relief. He walked one batter and struck out five.

Western Heights (11-11, 4-8) hosts 3A Anadarko for a doubleheader Thursday (April 17) at 4 p.m.

The Warriors (3-13) fell to Casady, 17-2, Tuesday.
