GUYMON — Western Heights made the long trek to Guymon a successful one with a doubleheader sweep of the host Tigers, 8-5 and 12-2, Monday (April 7) in 5A-1 action.
WESTERN HEIGHTS 8, GUYMON 5
The Jets scored five runs in the fourth inning to break a 3-2 game open.
Senior Caden Wiebusch was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Junior Connor Logsdon added a 2-for-4 day as well with double and an RBI.
Junior Akin Aguillard, freshman J.J. Bradley and senior Kole Schrock each collected a hit.
Senior Jacob Bohnstedt earned the win on the mount after pitching 6 1/3 innings. Bohnstedt allowed seven hits and five runs (two of which were earned). He walked one batter and struck out six.

The Jets scored six runs in the second inning to take the lead en route to a blowout win.
Western Heights collected 11 hits but were held without an extra-base hit in the win. Jet hitters were hit seven times to go along with three walks.
Juniors Keziah Howell and Aguillard each went 3-for-4 for the game. Howell scored twice and drove in three runs. Aguillard crossed the plate once and had four RBIs.
Wiebusch was 2-for-2 with a run scored. Logsdon had a 2-for-3 performance with a run scored.
Bohnstedt went 1-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI.
On the mound, Wiebusch pitched all six innings in the run-rule win. Wiebusch allowed four hits and two runs (one of which was earned). He walked one batter and struck out five.
