Choctaw junior Mayor Morgan rolled up 153 yards in the 54-14 rout of Putnam City Friday (Oct. 4) as the Pirates struggled to contain the Yellowjackets all while struggling to get the PC offense in gear.

Morgan averaged nine yards a carry in the contest as the Jackets rushed for 234 yards total for the game.

Pirate junior quarterback Joshua Lombard was lifted after starting 0-for-4 in the air. Sophomore Denymn Friday completed 10-of-18 for 166 yards and two second half scores.

Junior Savion James caught five passes for 71 yards. Fellow junior Visanio Boyd, Jr. followed with three catches for 60 yards and a score.

Senior Demarion Ridley added a 28-yard touchdown pass.

Senior Marqucio Woody had four rushes for 28 yards in the second half. Junior Rodgerick Sloan added 21 yards on seven carries. As a team, Putnam City rushed for 86 yards.

Junior DJ Ackerson paced the Pirate defense with 13 tackles. Seniors Michael Exum and Brayden Knox each had 10 tackles in the loss.

Knox had a sack as did junior Johnnie Efferson.

NEXT OPPONENT: Lawton Eisenhower

Tied with three other teams for second place in 6A-II 1, the Pirates (3-2, 1-1) meet one of those teams with which they are tied, Lawton Eisenhower (2-3, 1-1), on Friday (Oct. 11).

The Eagles are coming off a 42-35 win over Southmoore Friday (Oct. 4). It was Ike’s first win since the Aug. 30 opener against crosstown rival Lawton.
