OKLAHOMA CITY – Western Heights took 2-of-3 in the Queens of the South tournament at U.S. Grant Friday and Saturday (Sept. 27-28).

FRIDAY: SOUTHEAST 5, WESTERN HEIGHTS 4

Despite producing only three hits, Southeast walked off the Lady Jets, taking advantage of three errors in the game.

Jalesa Asimba went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, a double and two stolen bases. Abbie Bises went 2-for-3 with a double. Yazmine Howell added a 2-for-2 day with stolen base. Jasmine Frye went 1-for-2.

In the circle, none of the five runs Asimba allowed were earned. She struck out three batters.

FRIDAY: WESTERN HEIGHTS 15, CAPITOL HILL 4

The Lady Jets scored five runs in each of the three innings, racking up 10 hits.

Abby Spitler went 2-for-3 . Senior Ionia Howell went 2-for-2 with a double, home run and six runs batted in.

Aracena Martin also went 2-for-2 in the win.

Spitler allowed two hits and four runs (one of which was earned). She struck out four batters.

SATURDAY: WESTERN HEIGHTS 9, DOUGLASS 3

Western Heights broke open a one-run game in the third inning with five runs.

The Lady Jets had five hits and took advantage of four Douglass errors.

Asimba went 2-for-2, scoring three runs.

In the circle, Asimba earned the win. She allowed five hits and three runs (one earned) and struck out five batters.
