CLINTON – Bethany sophomore Jules Barger hit for the cycle and the Lady Bronchos routed Clinton 26-1, Monday (Sept. 9) in a 4A-1 game.

Barger singled in the first inning, doubled and homered in the second and tripled in the fifth. In all, Barger went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and eight runs batted in.

The Lady Bronchos’ offensive numbers eye-popping. Every starter got a hit and seven players had more than one hit as Bethany collected 26 hits in the win.

“I’m proud of our focus today,” Bethany coach Booker Blakley said via text. “Best day we’ve had hitting – top to bottom.”

Junior Emma Buxton added 4-for-5 performance with three runs scored and three RBIs. Junior Berkley Johnson went 3-for-5 with a double. Fellow junior Alyssa Daniels finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Daniels also hit a home run.

Junior Madison Bibbs went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs. Senior Ireland Riley and sophomore Emma Geissler each had two hits.

Bethany smacked nine extra-base hits in the game.

Junior Jayda Davis had a no-hitter through three innings. Davis allowed two hits, one run and three walks. She struck out six batters for the win.

Bethany (10-12, 4-3) travels to Mount Saint Mary (8-10, 0-4) Tuesday (Sept. 10) in another 4A-1 matchup. First pitch is at 5 p.m.
