OKLAHOMA CITY – Putnam City’s Kailyn Bratton and Putnam City West’s Jazzlin Brown finished second and third in two sprint events Saturday (May 11) at the Class 6A Girls State Track Meet at Western Heights.

Bratton, a freshman for the Pirates finished with the top preliminary round time in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes Friday with Brown, a junior for the Patriots, not far behind.

On Saturday, Mustang junior Jordan Atkinson took first in both events with Bratton and Brown following.

In the 100-meter event, Atkinson ran a 11.74, followed by Bratton at 11.98 and Brown at 12.07.

In the 200-meter event, Atkinson finished with a time of 23.75. Bratton ran it in 24.28 and Brown at 24.76.

West senior Caya Smith, who finished second in the high jump on Friday, landed in fourth in the long jump at 18-4.

As a team, Putnam City West finished 11th with 25 points. Putnam City added a 15th-place performance with 16 points.

In boys action, Putnam City freshman Ladarian Shoals finished 12th in the long jump at 20-3.50.
