LAWTON — Putnam City wrapped up 6A-II-1 play Friday (Oct. 30) with a 50-7 rout of Lawton Eisenhower.
With the win, Original (4-5, 4-2) stayed in second place, just ahead of Norman and Piedmont, who are both 3-2 with one more district game remaining.
The Pirates had six different players score in the win. Junior Marcico Petties had two rushing touchdowns, including an 87-yard touchdown run as time expired both halftime. Petties weaved through defenders in the middle of the field before outrunning everyone in the secondary to give Putnam City a 28-7 lead.
In the third quarter, the Pirates got some linemen and bigger guys into the end zone. Seniors Evan Metoyer and Crishawn Rhodes both had one-yard scores.
UP NEXT
Original finishes the regular season by hosting 5A Midwest City for Senior Night next Thursday (Nov. 5).
The Bombers were once perennial rival in the old Mid-State Conference, dating back to the 1950s. With Midwest City’s move down to 5A, the two schools haven’t played each other since 2019. PC hasn’t won in the series since 2005, having lost eight straight games.
The Bombers (5-4) lost to crosstown rival Carl Albert, 49-19 on Friday.
