
LAWTON — Putnam City West junior Aaron De Loera went 3-for-4 and sophomore Malachi Ferguson had two doubles in the Patriots’ 10-4 win over Lawton Eisenhower Thursday (April 23) in a 6A-3 contest.
West broke a 1-1 tie with five runs in the third inning.
De Loera drove in four runs and Ferguson’s double in the third inning capped off the big inning. Ferguson was 2-for-3 as well as freshman Tylor Mason.
Junior Daniel Hoyt and sophomore Cadence Smith each went 2-for-5. Freshman Riley Axtell was 3-for-3 with two runs batted in.
Axtell threw a complete game. He allowed four runs and nine hits. Axtell walked three batters and struck out six.

Putnam City West (11-13) travels to neighboring 4A Bethany (14-11) Friday (April 24) at 5 p.m.
The Bronchos suffered a 2-0 loss to Purcell Tuesday (April 22).
