
BETHANY — Purcell took a 4A-3 series with Bethany Tuesday (April 21) with a 2-0 win.
The Bronchos had baserunners in every inning but one, but were held scoreless on three hits.
Purcell junior Cash Cook sent an 0-2 pitch over the right field fence to lead off the game. In the fifth inning, senior Bryce Blair homered with two outs to make it 2-0.
Broncho starter Connor Sydnes allowed seven hits over seven innings. The junior walked three and struck out 10.
Sophomores Cooper Suarez, Cruz Burleson and freshman Isaac Bellows each had a hit in the loss. Burleson and Suarez each had a stolen base.
Purcell junior Kash Knowles struck out nine batters and walked none.

Bethany (14-11) hosts 6A Putnam City West Friday (April 24) at 5 p.m.
The Patriots (10-13) dropped a 6A-1 doubleheader to Yukon Monday. West travels to Lawton Eisenhower Thursday for a district makeup game before playing Bethany.
