OKLAHOMA CITY — Sand Springs had 10 hits and two home runs in a 13-3 win over Putnam City North Monday (April 13) in a 6A-4 matchup.

After the Sandites took a 5-0 lead in the second inning, the Panthers answered with a pair of runs. Junior Treague Ferguson and senior Gavin Lang opened the inning with singles. Later in the inning, junior Devin Orton singled both home to make it 5-2.

Sand Springs got both runs back in the top of the third inning. In the bottom half of the inning, senior Reece Hubble singled and fellow Xavier Sarkey doubled to right field. Ferguson grounded to second base which scored Hubble.

Senior Austin Guerrero, Hubble, Sarkey, Ferguson, Lang and Orton each had hits. Guerrero also had a walk. The Panthers struck out eight times in the loss.

UP NEXT

North (3-18, 0-8) was slated to play at Sand Springs Tuesday (April 14) but severe weather canceled that.

The Panthers have a non-district matchup Thursday at 5 p.m. against Norman North.
