
WARR ACRES — Putnam City scored four runs in the sixth inning for a 5-4 win over Southwest Covenant Friday (March 27) at the Bryson Cael Memorial Festival.
Trailing 3-1, the Pirates got a walk, two singles, a double and took advantage of a Patriot error to take the lead.
Junior Bryson Vanover and senior Justin Knight each went 2-for-3. Sophomores MJ Petties, Gabe Krueger, junior Jared Potter and senior Henry Thein each had a hit. Krueger’s double keyed the sixth-inning rally.
Knight earned the win. He threw six innings and allowed four hits. All three runs he allowed were unearned. Knight walked six batters and struck out 10. Senior Austin Clifton earned a save after pitching an inning. He allowed a hit and a run. Clifton walked two batters.
