BROKEN ARROW — Putnam City North fell twice on the opening day of the Broken Arrow Festival Friday (Aug. 15)
MOORE 8, PUTNAM CITY NORTH 3
North couldn’t overcome an 8- 0 deficit in the opener. The Panthers committed four errors in the loss.
North broke up the shutout in the fifth inning. Junior Savannah Martinez walked. Sophomore Kayleigh Andrews doubled in a run. Senior Mikala Coats reached on an error for another run. Senior Peyton Edwards hit into double play that scored Coats.
Martinez, Stevenson, Andrews and Coats each had hits.
CLAREMORE 5, PUTNAM CITY NORTH 1
The Panthers struggled at the plate with only two hits.
Claremore had six hits (three of them were doubles) and four walks in the win.
Junior Kayla Orton and Edwards each had a hit.
