CHOCTAW — Putnam City West’s baseball season ended after two losses Wednesday (May 7) in Class 6A’s Regional 4.
CHOCTAW 12, PUTNAM CITY WEST 2
The Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI groundout from sophomore Aaron De Loera. Freshman Cadence Smith, who walked to lead off the inning, scored.
The Yellowjackets scored in every inning following in the six-inning run-rule.
West scored again in the fifth inning. Smith doubled, stole third and home to make it 10-2.
Senior Nathan Vann went 1-for 3 with a stolen base. Junior Ezequiel Hernandez was 1-for-2 in the loss.
The Patriots had baserunners as West hitters walked seven times in the contest.

Norman North sophomore Ty Lashbrook allowed just one hit in a five-inning run-rule.
Senior Luis Enriquez singled to lead off the fifth inning. West also had three walks.
Vann took the loss, allowing six hits in 4 2/3 innings. Of the 10 runs he allowed, seven were earned. He walked eight and struck out nine batters.
The Patriots committed four errors in the loss.
