MUSTANG — Putnam City North dropped it final 6A-1 games of the season, 2-1 and 7-3, Monday (April 28) in a doubleheader.
MUSTANG 2, PUTNAM CITY NORTH 1
Senior Gavin Lang scattered five hits over six innings but North managed just one run in a 2-1 loss.
Lang walked one batter and struck out four.
The Panthers took the lead in the first inning on an RBI-double by junior Quincy Robinson which scored sophomore Treague Ferguson (who had walked).
The Broncos took the lead in the second inning on three straight two-out hits, including a double from Brody Fields.
North had an opportunity to score in the top of the third inning with two hits but were unable to score.
Robinson was was 2-for-3. Carattini, junior Austin Guerrero and junior JaQuari Dansby each had a hit.
Mustang junior Kamden Mantooh struck out eight North batters in a complete-game win.

The Panthers couldn’t rally after a seven-run second inning by Mustang.
Carattini led off the first inning and was hit by a pitch. He moved to third on Ferguson’s single and scored on a passed ball.
Mustang had four hits, two walks, a hit batsman and an error in the second inning.
In the fifth inning, Mustang reliever Deric Wagner walked the bases loaded. Junior Owen Attebery drove in junior Robert Marcy with a walk. Senior Junior Garcia later walked (the fifth of the inning) to score sophomore Devin Orton and make it 7-3.
Ferguson’s first inning single was the only hit for the Panthers, who struck out 10 times.
