Westmoore swept a two-game 6A-1 series Monday and Tuesday (April 21-22).

MONDAY: WESTMOORE 6, PUTNAM CITY NORTH 3

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Jaguars scored two runs in the sixth inning to pull away from the Panthers.

North took a first inning lead after sophomore Treague Ferguson tripled to right field. Ferguson scored on a passed ball to make it 1-0.

Westmoore scored twice in both the second and fourth innings to take a 4-1 lead.

North answered with two runs in the fifth inning. The Panthers loaded the bases and senior Rocco Carattini drove in fellow senior Geoffry Schmid and junior Austin Guererro to cut the lead to 4-3. Carattini was put out on the base paths to end the inning.

In the sixth inning, walks, a single and a hit batsman gave the Jags two more insurance runs.

Carattini, Ferguson, Schmid and Guerrero each had a hit. Schmid’s hit was a double.

North hitters struck out nine times in the loss.

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Panthers were held to one hit in a shutout loss.

Junior JaQuari Dansby led off the third inning with a single. Besides two walks and two hit batsmen, North was kept off the bases.

The Panthers struck out six times.

The Jaguars scored four runs in the second inning on two triples and a North error.
