WARR ACRES — Putnam City managed only one hit in a 3-0 loss to Class A Oklahoma Christian Academy Thursday (April 3) in the Dawgz of the South tournament hosted by Santa Fe South.
The game was one of many games moved to Putnam City’s turf field after rains made the original venue unplayable.
Pirate sophomore Bryson Vanover struck out seven batters in five innings. Vanover allowed just two hits and walked two batters. Of the three runs he allowed, only one was earned due to five Putnam City errors.
Vanover recorded PC’s only hit at the plate, a single in the first inning.
Senior JT Twillie walked once and was hit by a pitch. Twillie stole three bases and was caught stealing once. Senior Henry Plata also added a walk.
OCA junior Cruz Gillespie walked two and struck out 11 in the win for the Eagles.
