OKLAHOMA CITY — Yukon scored 11 runs in the final two innings for a 13-1 run-rule of Putnam City North Monday (March 31) in a 6A-1 game.

The Millers scored a run in both the second and third innings, but blew the game open in the fifth inning.

In the fifth, a North error, three singles, a walk and hit batsmen led to four runs to make it 6-0.

North answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth. Junior Gavin Lang singled to left field and later scored on an infield error on a ball hit by senior Rocco Carattini to make it 6-1.

In the sixth inning, the Millers scored seven runs as Carattini hit four batters in the inning.

Junior Mitchell Taylor went 2-for-2. North hitters struck out 10 times in the loss.

North (1-14, 0-5) travels to Yukon (9-8, 4-1) Wednesday (April 2) in a 6A-1 contest at 5 p.m.
