BETHANY – Bethany senior Charlie Tolle drove in six runs at the plate and struck out 11 batters on the mound in the Bronchos’ 10-2 win over Weatherford in a 4A-4 contest Monday (March 3).

The Seminole State commit broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fourth with a grand slam over the right field wall after three straight walks. Tolle also singled home a run and reached on an error, which drove in a run.

On the mound, Tolle struck out 11 over 6 1/3 innings. He walked four. His only blemish was 2-run homer by Weatherd senior Cody Chisum in the second inning.

Junior Karter Thomas went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Junior Judson Gilliland, seniors Joe Berry, Andrew Taber, Levi Moore and Brock Cross each had a hits in the win.

Bethany (2-0, 1-0) took advantage of eight walks allowed by Weatherford pitching.

UP NEXT

Bethany travels to Weatherford Tuesday (March 4) to complete the 4A-4 series. First pitch is at 5 p.m.
