WARR ACRES – Putnam City scored nine runs in the first inning en route to a 13-1 run-rule rout of Capitol Hill in three innings Monday (March 3).

The Pirates (1-1) rapped six hits in the bottom of the first inning, walked three times and had a batter hit by a pitch.

Senior Connor Fast, freshman Bryson Vanover and junior Henry Plata each had two hits in the win. Vanover and Plata had doubles. Vanover, Fast and senior Lukas Poindexter had triples in the win.

Junior Henry Thein stole two bases. Junior Brandon Bennett and Caden Goodwin each stole a base.

Putnam City had nine hits in the win.

Senior Andrew Simon picked up the win after pitching two scoreless innings. He allowed one hit, walked a batter and struck out four.

UP NEXT

Putnam City hosts Putnam City West (0-1) Tuesday (March 4) at 5 p.m.

The Patriots fell to Midwest City, 14-8, Saturday.
