CACHE — Bethany had four players score in double figures in a 63-19 rout of Cache Tuesday (Feb. 4) in a Western Athletic Conference contest.
“Thought we did a good job of sharing the ball!” Bethany coach Eric Sailer said via text. “Even scoring across the floor.”
The 4A eighth-ranked Lady Bronchos (15-4, 5-2) got out to a 19-4 lead after one quarter and the rout was on.
Bethany played its first game without junior Reese Harris. On Sunday, Harris tore her ACL at soccer training
“We are sad for Reese because this is her second ACL in the last year-and-a-half,” Sailer said. “She was really coming into her own playing on both ends of the floor.
“So with that said, we have to try and step up and maintain all the positives Reese was giving to the team.”
“And, we did,” Sailer said.
Senior Kayten Donley scored a game-high 14 points and brought down 11 rebounds. Donley also dished out five assists.
Junior Maddison had 11 points and four rebounds.
“McNutt hit some big shots for us,” Sailer said.
Sophomore Camryn Regier overcame early foul trouble to score 10 point and grab nine boards.
“(She) found a way to remain on the floor and not pick up silly fouls,” Sailer said.
Sophomore Ali Linn “played her best game of the year,” Sailer said. Linn had 10 points and five assists.
Freshman Kamryn Donley “did her damage inside the arc,” with eight points, four rebounds and three assists.
Sailer also highlighted junior Madison Bibbs, senior Lauren Koonce and junior McKenna Calderon for giving the team “quality minutes” off the bench.
The Lady Bronchos shot 60 percent from the field and forced 17 steals in the win. Cache shot 19 percent and had 25 turnovers overall.
