BROKEN ARROW – Broken Arrow stymied Putnam City North’s offense and took advantage of Lady Panthers’ miscues in a 12-1 run-rule Monday (Sept. 23) in 6A-2 action.

The Lady Panthers got their lone run in the the second inning. Sophomore Savannah Martinez and freshman Kayleigh Andrews led off the inning with walks. Both advanced on a sacrifice bunt by senior Raya Shawareb. Martinez scored on a groundout from senior Aubrey Miller to make it 2-1, Broken Arrow.

Broken Arrow scored runs in every inning but the third inning and used a four-run fourth inning (highlighted by three walks and two errors) to build an 8-1 lead.

In all, North committed eight errors.

Sophomore Kayla Orton got North’s lone hit in the fifth inning. In that inning, the Lady Panthers loaded the bases with two outs but couldn’t score.

Junior Jayda Stevenson got the loss despite only two of her eight runs allowed being earned.
