BETHANY – The Lady Bronchos outhit the visiting Elk City Elkettes but dropped a key 4A-1 matchup, 7-1, Monday (Sept. 16).

Bethany stayed behind second-place Elk City in the district standings with the loss.

The Elkettes scored two runs in both the second and third innings, taking advantage of Bethany miscues to build a 4-0 lead.

The Lady Bronchos committed five errors in the contest.

Bethany got on the board in the fifth inning. Senior Ireland Riley hit a two-out infield single. Riley stole second and scored on a single to left from junior Madison Bibbs to make it 4-1.

Elk City plated three runs in the sixth inning to put the game away with two doubles and a single.

Riley and Bibbs each finished with a 3-for-4 day. Junior Alyssa Daniels wnet 2-for-3 with a double.

UP NEXT

This stretch of important district games continues Tuesday (Sept. 17) when Bethany hosts Woodward (17-7, 5-3). First pitch is at 5 p.m.
